Homeowners get green boost with VAT cut

Homeowners seeking to improve the energy efficiency of their properties have been given a boost in the spring statement after VAT on energy saving materials was scrapped.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak said with rising energy costs, it was now more important for homeowners to make sure their homes were as energy efficient as possible.

Sunak said for the next five years, VAT would be removed entirely on the likes of solar panels, heat pumps and insulation.

What does this mean for my installation?

VAT has been scrapped on green home improvements by Rishi Sunak In his Spring Statement, the Chancellor announced he is scrapping the tax cut on energy-saving materials. You will not have to pay the VAT stated on your contract.

Does this affect me?

Your current Solar Contract includes VAT. We are currently working through thousands of orders to reissue you with a new contract that has been reduced by the full VAT amount. You will need to digitally sign using a very simple link. If you are unable to sign the quick link you will be offered a paper copy.

How does this affect my finance?

If you have purchased your system through one of our finance providers, you will also receive the appropriate information depending on the lender. It is most likely you will receive a new agreement or be refunded the VAT.

Do I need to do anything now?

Relax, you’re in safe hands. You don’t need to do anything apart from be patient; please allow us to email your new information. We are prioritising orders in date order, working from tomorrow through to June.
