Review: can solar panels save you money?

As we head into 2020, many people are looking at ways they can reduce their carbon footprint and be a little nicer to the environment.

That could be through less plastic usage, swapping the car for the bus a couple of times a week, or maybe looking at ways to reduce energy usage.

We recently highlighted that renewable energy is now the biggest source of power in the UK (38.9%) made up of wind and solar power.

It is estimated that more than 1 million homes in the UK now use solar energy with that number expected to rise to 2.7m by 2023.

Can solar panels help save you money?

We caught up with homeowner Ian, who recently had solar panels fitted to his roof and asked him to share a review of his experience. 

After having the solar panels installed for the environment, he has seen his energy consumption half. 

He describes the one day installation process as “very quick and easy” and said they were saving money “in just a few days”.
