As a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), Project Better Energy Group has several obligations which it must comply with.
Project Better Energy Group’s approach to being compliant with these obligations is set out below.
- Product Design & Recyclability
Project Better Energy Group confirms that its products, including but not limited to renewable energy solutions, electric heaters, AC & DC EV chargers, and ASHP hot water tanks, comply with the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations.
All products are designed with end-of-life recyclability in mind, enabling safe disassembly and recovery of materials such as plastics, metals, and electronic components through authorised WEEE treatment facilities. Each product is marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, indicating that it must not be disposed of with household waste.
Furthermore, our products are free from hazardous substances that would hinder safe recycling, in full alignment with the WEEE Directive and guidance issued by the UK Environment Agency.
- WEEE Marking
All Project Better Energy Group’s products that are subject to the WEEE Regulations 2013 (as amended) are compliant with the WEEE marking requirements. Such products are marked with the “crossed out wheelie bin” or WEEE symbol shown below in accordance with the WEEE Regulations.
- Information for Users
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) covers any equipment which is dependent on electric currents or electromagnetic fields and equipment for the generation, management and transfer of such currents that has been discarded or is at the end of its useful life. Along with waste and accumulators, WEEE must never be placed in your waste disposal or recycling bin. The crossed-out wheelie symbol on our appliances reminds us not to put these items in the bin but to segregate them for recycling.
It is your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by arranging to return it to a designated collection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. By separating and recycling your waste equipment at the time of disposal, you will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that the equipment is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. For more information about how to recycle your Project Better Energy Group products, please contact WERCS Limited on 0845 643 0304 or Email wercs@wasteexperts.co.uk.
Protecting the Environment
Recycling and reusing unwanted electrical or electronic waste can help save the planet, boost the economy, and improve lives. Not only that, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) contains materials, parts and substances which can be dangerous to the environment and harmful to human health if not disposed of correctly.
Electrical and electronic equipment is now the fastest-growing waste stream in the UK and across the world. Discover the impact of reusing and recycling your electricals at www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is regulated by the UK Government (www.gov.uk)
5) Treatment
